The human brain gets inundated with vast amounts of information every second, and in order to make quick decisions it must take shortcuts. As you make decisions, how aware are you of these shortcuts, and how would you know if your choices were biased?

This event will introduce and review the concept of unconscious bias, and consider how it can affect us. We will investigate our own biases, show that everyone carries biases, and discuss how unconscious biases have an impact in schools and workplaces. The event will also explore strategies and approaches for working to reduce the impact of unconscious biases.

Please visit the NUSTEM website for more information and to book.
