CPD for those teaching and supporting physics. Led by experienced trainers, each participant will be able to access three 1-hour sessions providing engaging activities supported by learning approaches designed to further develop participants’ confidence in physics at KS3, KS4 and Post-16

The workshops will support a variety of physics topics and everyone attending can choose three sessions from the list below:

Details of each of the sessions are shown during the online registration process.
• Engaging students to take physics further
• Key ideas in physics
• Specific heat capacity (predominantly for technicians)
• The electricity trolley (predominantly for technicians)
• Remote teaching physics
• SUVAT at home: the equations of motion (KS4/5)
• Misconceptions in mechanics and more
• The particle model and pressure in gases
• A-B-G of radioactivity
• Wave front and ray diagrams
• How to play AC/DC through a loudspeaker made from cardboard, thread and sticky tape
• Incorporating some basic programming ideas in physics
• Shattering stereotypes
• Climate friendly physics
• Electricity challenges
• Linking force and motion, including freebody diagrams and terminal velocity

These sessions are for everyone involved in teaching and supporting students aged 11 to 18 years,

This online Physics professional development festival on Saturday 11 July has been organised in partnership with Institute of Physics, Winchester College, Physics Partners and University of Southampton. There is no charge to attend.
