How does pitta bread get its pocket? Why do cranberry growers bounce their berries? And what makes chocolate so pleasurable?

Physics explanations are given for these and other interesting food facts. We will look at practical activities with food to explore physics phenomena, which can be carried out as experiments by students (and children at home).

To *indulge* in the activities, you will need (this is optional!):

– a Lindt ball chocolate;
– a biscuit;
– a strawberry bootlace (or similar);
– a boiled sweet;
– a toffee.
– a spider diagram handout (you will receive this once you have registered).
