The 30th Annual Meeting for Teachers of Physics in Schools and Colleges will be held on the 7th of June 2018 at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire.

This year will feature keynote lectures from Emma Bunce, Professor of Planetary Plasma Physics at Leicester University and Marcin Poblocki. The afternoon session will consist of hands-on workshops, which provide a wonderful opportunity for teachers not only to pick up new ideas and resources but also offer a platform for discussion and idea sharing. Teachers will have the choice of two workshops from those listed below;

– Assessment of the new A level Physics Practical Work, Catherine Witter, AQA and Joanne Avison
– Phantoms or Physics, David Featonby and Nuria Munoz Molina
– Gravitational Waves in the Classroom, Chris North and Brychan Govier
– Embedding formative assessment in 11-14 physics teaching, Mary Whitehouse
– Using smartphones and tablets in the physics classroom, Alessio Bernardelli
– Context-led Physics: RAF100, Helen Pollard and Richard Bonella, Institute of Physics
– The use and value of telescopes in schools, Dr David Boyce, Leicester Grammar School
– HiSPARC, Dr Paul Roche
