If you receive a weblink as part of an email notification (e.g. there is a new event…), the hyperlink only works if you are already logged in. We need to at least change the wording of the email to let users know this, or preferably find a way of taking them to the log-in page, then as soon as they log in, taking them to the destination. As the all clear has been given by Sarah in Bristol, email notifications will be created for ALL groups today until 5pm.
It will then be switched off at 5pm Friday and left off until Monday lunchtime, if there have been no problems reported then it will be switched on permanently.
The only issue pending here is whether to restrict the email notification to “one per hour” for any particular user, to avoid the situation where they are bombarded / inconvenienced enough to switch off the notification option.
